Who am I?
Imagineer, professional listener, people-watcher, serendipitist, pamphleteer.
I design and facilitate conversations, I mentor people on creative process, and I write creative non-fiction.
I will be collecting, curating, writing, and editing content for this project. I will also be designing and facilitating creative conversations as online events.
I have experience in the arts, university, and community sectors including as a writer, performer, choreographer, arts manager, workplace trainer, neighbourhood house manager, and events manager. Currently I specialise in helping people to understand their creative identity, develop a creative process, and to use creative means to make sense of their lives.
I am focused on work that is humane and generative of inspiration, learning, and resilience. I am particularly interested in helping people to reclaim confidence in their creativity, harness collective imagination, and develop capabilities in futures literacy, interdisciplinary and / or transdisciplinary work.

Why did I decide to write about human agency in a digital world?
I have been following news about the advent of artificial intelligence - and especially the impact it is having on creative work - with keen interest. I am particularly interested in how AI will influence creative process and practice, for better and for worse.
As someone who is self-employed and who used to enjoy using social media, I have also been interested in, if dismayed by, shifts in algorithmic design and business model in social media platforms. Again, these things have had a significant impact on the professional practice of creative workers, especially when it comes to building networks, engaging with audiences, promoting work, and earning income.
And last year I have had a few ‘adventures’ with big tech corporations where I felt that my sense of agency was being undermined. I have a few things to get off my chest!
So I look forward to sharing some stories but also some of the great analysis I have discovered from experts. Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoy this Substack.
